Grassroots was born from an ongoing desire to observe and interpret the world around Jadon Matthews. Raised in Mayaro, Trinidad, he began drawing at the age of five and sold his first artwork at fifteen. Although he spent a decade in public service, his commitment to art never faded. A self-taught artist with some formal training at the University of the West Indies, he developed his practice through group exhibitions and consignment work before presenting his first solo exhibition in 2019.
