Knolly Greenidge born November 8th, 1937 in Cedros, is a self-taught artist who has had many one-man exhibitions in Trinidad. He has also shown his work in many other countries including Suriname, England, Canada and Brazil with great success. Greenidge seriously began painting in 1964, where he was greatly influenced by Bro. Furgus Griffin and the Southern Arts Society. Working in both watercolours and oils, and with a restricted palette, using only reds, oranges, yellows, browns and blues, he recreates the local landscape of southern Trinidad in a non-objective manner.
